What is an Alternate Approver?
Alternate Approvers are the equivalent of a “backup approver” for a vacant position. For example, say there are 10 employees who report to Position #0081892 but that position is currently vacant. Instead of all leave requests routing higher up in the chain of command, the Personnel Officer can set an “alternate approver” for the vacant position so all leave requests route to that person instead.
