What is an all porcelain crown or veneer?
An all porcelain crown is all porcelain with no metal. All porcelain crowns or veneers are used for anterior (front) teeth. The posterior (back) teeth usually have a metal base with porcelain over the metal for esthetic reasons. The metal base helps to make the posterior crowns stronger for chewing. A crown or veneer is fabricated in a dental laboratory using accurate impressions taken by Dr. Zietz.
