These are charges added to the car rental for picking up a vehicle at the airport. As well as covering the rental of an in-terminal desk, it covers use of shuttle buses etc. The exceptions to this rule are Australia and New Zealand. In these countries there is an airport fee and a recovery fee to pay when picking up your vehicle at the airport. This is paid directly to the supplier and is not refundable. These fees can vary from between 11% – 25% of the total cost of the car hire.
