An air taxi is a for-hire passenger or cargo aircraft which operates on an on-demand basis. Air Taxi operators mainly have smaller aircraft and operate in a concentrated region, such as South Central United States. In the United States, air taxi and air charter operations are governed by Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). An air taxi is also a aircraft charter service.
