The AME is a doctor chosen by agreement between the injured worker and the employer. The goal is to resolve medical disputes regarding treatment. The doctor’s report can play an important role in the outcome of your workers’ compensation claim. In many cases, where an employer has referred a client to an MPN doctor, once an attorney is retained, an attorney may be able to get the client out of the MPN where a doctor of the client’s choosing is available.
