What is an Affiliate Network?
An affiliate network is a commercial company who manages relationships between affiliates and merchants. An Affiliate network’s job is to connect merchants with as many affiliates as possible. Affiliate networks list advertisement campaigns, links and data feeds belonging to online merchants for affiliates to use on their website. The affiliates will display the merchant’s advertisement and try to bring as much traffic as possible toward the merchant’s website. Depending on the merchant’s advertisement campaign, some campaigns may pay-per-click or cost-per-click (PPC / CPC), but most would actually pay-per-action or cost-per-action (PPA / CPA), meaning you would get paid for every sale generated from traffic referred from the affiliates’ website.
