What is an adverb phrase?
A group of words that act like an adverb to modify a verb (or sometimes adjectives or other adverbs.) Sometimes they will ‘look’ like a prepositional phrase. I will eat in a half-hour. – ‘in a half-hour’ modifies the verb ‘eat’ Lots of times the adverbial phrase starts with words like ‘when’ such as, I will eat when I’m hungry.
