What is an acquisition program, and why can’t I use the gift cards for one?
An “acquisition program” is a marketing program designed to attract or acquire new customers. Our participating retailers prohibit their gift cards for use in acquisition programs. The reason is simple – when branded gift cards are used in these programs it implies an endorsement or recommendation of the product or organization. Our retailers are fiercely protective of their valuable brands and do not wish to allow their promotional use without prior approval and consent.
