What is an “acceptable” number of daily US casualties in Iraq?
This is the question the MSM refuses to pose, just as they refused to pose similar important questions leading up to this war, and are once again failing at their duty as a public trustee. This is the question that politicians avoid like the plague and the one the American public, by an large, would prefer to not think about. Why! Because it leads to another far more difficult question: Why is it necessary for US troops to continue to die in Iraq? I am one who believes that war is sometimes (although rarely) necessary to prevent a far worse result for the US and the world in terms of a human catastrophe. I would argue that our involvement in World War II avoided the possibility of a world wide Nazi regime and a Jewish genocide. But other wars such as Vietnam cost us many lives for nothing. As we all know pretty much all the reasons for going to war in Iraq or remaining at war in Iraq, have either been proven false or have already been resolved.
