What Is an Accelerated Nursing Program Like?
Accelerated nursing programs are designed for those who have non-nursing bachelor’s degrees who are interested in changing career fields. They are extremely challenging programs that compress a four year nursing degree into 12-18 months, with the average being 15 months. The programs typically require a full time commitment on the student’s part, and it is strongly suggested that students not work during their program. Entry into the accelerated programs does require some prerequisite work. It will vary by student, however.
