What is amplification ratio?
A6: The discharge pressure must be greater than the process pressure to be able to positively inject into the process line. It is recommended that the discharge pressure be 200 PSI above the process pressure. Amplification ratio is the difference in the surface area the surface area between the air piston and the fluid plunger. The greater the difference in surface area, the larger the amplification ratio and corresponding higher pump discharge pressure. You should only use the minimum air supply pressure that will overcome the process pressure.
