What is Amnesty International doing?
For nearly 50 years, Amnesty International and its millions of supporters around the world have been working to address the most pressing human rights issues of the day. In the 21st Century, the widespread denial of economic, social and cultural rights remains among the world’s most pressing human rights concerns. Amnesty International joins local communities and activists worldwide in campaigning for economic, social and cultural rights to be respected, protected and fulfilled. The organization researches and campaigns for an end to violations of these rights, calling for justice for people affected and for those responsible to be held to account. Human rights are inter-linked – to ensure the protection of human dignity, we must campaign to secure all human rights for all people.
