Altruism is a philosophical concept in which one helps out other people from unselfish devotion. Worthy to note, this is almost the exact opposite of Ayn Rand’s philosophy– who herself spoke, calling alruism “evil”. It is a simple concept to grasp, I believe. One acts in such a way as to help others; and not for his own gain, but for the advancemnt and gain of others.
