What is all the hype about stainless steel water bottles? I recycle my plastic water bottles, isn’t that enough?
This is an excellent question as there are many people who are not aware of the stainless steel water bottle movement and why they play such a vital role to our health and to the environment. This is a lengthy topic however there are two main points of concern. • There are two main reasons to switch to a high end stainless steel water bottle. • Health • High grades of stainless steel are safe to drink from as they do not leach any harmful chemicals into the water. They are BPA free. • The plastic used in bottled water contains a chemical referred to as BPA. This chemical leaches into the water inside the plastic bottles. The length of time the water has been in the bottles and hot temperatures the bottles are exposed to increases the amount of BPA leaching into the water. • BPA has been declared a dangerous substance by the Canadian Government in 2008 • BPA is a hormone disrupter, is associated with several types of cancer and can be passed from a pregnant mom to her unborn baby. • The
