What is all the commotion going on about the olympic torch?
China brought focused international attention to itself by hosting the Olympic Games without fully understanding world (particularly Western) opinion of its human rights record, and what that would mean. The world is watching China right now, so people are using this world-wide platform to protest China’s policies, particularly on Tibet. The Chinese government may not have cared about this, but they should have seen this coming.
