What is Albany County doing to prepare for an H1N1 flu outbreak?
In response to the present flu outbreak, our department is closely monitoring the situation including active participation in federal and state briefings and review of health advisories prepared by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are working with these federal and state agencies to execute appropriate response activities as outlined for local health departments. We are involved in frequent communication with NYSDOH staff, hospital representatives, and health care providers to assure necessary steps are taken in accordance with most recent guidance that is based upon national and statewide surveillance data and the latest recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
