What is AFAs investment philosophy?
AFA utilizes a total return approach which combines both active and passive management, as it believes that diversification can be achieved not only by choosing among different asset classes but also via the use of both approaches. Our CFA practitioners choose individual large capitalization equities and REITs and round out the portfolio with a combination of actively managed and passive mutual funds and exchange traded funds in the following areas: mid cap, small cap, international equity, real estate and fixed income. We may also utilize individual bond and preferred stock holdings. This hybrid approach allows AFA to remain quite flexible in the types of investment vehicles utilized in achieving the clients risk and return requirements. AFA focuses on fundamental analysis when making investment decisions for both individual equity and bond selections.
