A. AEMMA stands for the Academy of European Medieval Martial Arts. The AEMMA website is located at http://www.aemma.org for more information. AEMMA is a non-profit corporation comprised of instructors and students who share a common interest in historical European/Western martial arts and medieval history. We seek to revive interest in the fighting arts practiced in Europe between the 12th and 15th centuries through the research, study and practice of the fighting arts described in detail in several medieval manuscripts or treatises. We aim to establish a formalized curriculum of historical Western martial arts based on the research of the texts written by the medieval swordsmasters.
