What is Advanced Fatigue Management (AFM)?
AFM gives accredited operators even more flexibility than that provided under other options in return for demonstrating greater accountability for managing risk. Work and rest hours are proposed by the operator and the proposal is approved by the RTA on a case by case basis. The operator must identify the risks associated with working longer hours and put in place countermeasures to control the risks. The operator must comply with ten standards under the NHVAS.
