What is Adopt A City Street?
Oklahoma Citys Adopt-A-City-Street Program was approved by the City Council on May 12, 1998. The City Manager has been encouraging city staff to create programs to enhance our citys physical appearance as well as quality of life. It is felt that this program meets these goals. The Adopt-A-City-Street program is be a catalyst to organize active community participation in keeping the City beautiful. This program is a partnership between the City of Oklahoma City and its citizens. This program will build civic pride by beautifying Oklahoma City streets, increasing safety and decreasing litter and other pollutants through trash removal and other volunteer beautification efforts. Ultimately, this program will create greater environmental awareness in the Oklahoma City community.
