There are two components to your preparation: 1. Required: Maintain an asana practice at least 6 days per week for at least 6 months prior to the program. Without this, it would be premature to consider teaching. Besides, although the asanas you’ll be doing are not overly demanding, you’ll be doing a lot of them. That, plus a full overall schedule, means that it’s important to be prepared physically. 2. Strongly recommended: Read parts of Art and Science of Yoga 14 Steps to Higher Awareness by Swami Kriyananda. This large book/tape set is included in your program fees. If you don’t already have it, you can order it when you register by checking the appropriate box on the program application and including payment. Note: Even if you’re unable to complete the pre-program reading, you’re still welcome to attend, but you’ll be happier, more relaxed, and learn more if you read it in advance.
