Adelaide is a great city. Just a note in regards to (Lebanese British born) “Aussie’s” comments re. South Australia’s economy: “has been flat for years”, NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH! South Australia’s Economy is actually out performing every other Australian State! (Adelaide Advertiser 7th June 2009) “South Australia’s economy outgrew Australia’s, and Adelaide was the only state recording growth in the March quarter,” http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story… (The Weekend Australian) recently reported South Australia is “Poised for a perfect future”…”The certainty for South Australia — bolder, brighter, more confident than before — is that the state is better placed than most to ride out the global financial storm.” http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/sto… OK more a

Born and bred Adelaide girl and I love it. It’s a well planned city as previously mentioned, lots of parklands, great restaurants, one of the most affordable mainland capital cities to live in, not as vocal about what it has to offer as some of the eastern cities– but equally worth the trip. Doesn’t take very long to travel from one side of Adelaide to the other. We are friendly people generally, has a lot of festivals hence the festival state tag. Relaxed lifestyle– we don’t get into the rush rush rush thing of Sydney. Also we don’t have Eddie McGuire thats always a good thing! Some people here have said it is boring, that is their opinion, but as someone who has travelled extensively and seen cities that are more populated than any city here ie New York, Bangkok, small and notg as crowded can be a welcome relief after visits to large places.

It is a nice city, i remember the central markets, Rundle Mall, and it was just a nice city to stroll around. It is not one of Australia’s most popular travel destinations, but if you’re going to stay or live there, it’s probably a good thing, you’ll skip the crowds of tourists that you have in Sydney and Melbourne. It’s a friendly place, Adelaide people are very nice, and outside the town are Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. And i loved Glenelg Beach.
