ADDA plans for urban and industry growth in the area. Besides providing urban infrastructure facilities including roads, water, drainage etc, ADDA also plans for scientific growth within its planning area. Since population growth of the urban centres is increasing, ADDA has decided to promote housing development and growth of the service sector by bringing in better retail, hospitality. The growth of Durgapur as an alternate IT hub is also being promoted by ADDA. Apart from this, a large number of heavy industries have already evinced their interest to invest in this region.
