What is adaptive voltage scaling? What are the benefits?
Adaptive voltage scaling relies on an embedded Adaptive Power Controller (APC) that tracks the performance variations of the system processor. The APC accurately communicates the performance (frequency), temperature, and process variations of the system processor over a PowerWise high speed low power interface to an external compliant power management chip. The power management unit then adaptively adjusts the supply voltage of the system processor based on performance requirements.
