What is account roaming?
Generally in a public WLAN, there are many WISPs that provide wireless network services. Often, the scope of the services provided by these WISPs is restricted and may not meet the user’s needs. Therefore, most WISPs would collaborate with one another to enable their respective account holders to seamlessly access the Internet without having to get an account on another service network. This is called roaming. Collaboration between the service providers not only benefits the user but also provides opportunity for business growth. There are now many organizations that have been formed to provide this type of roaming service e.g. the internationally renowned GRIC, iPASS etc and the OMI@ , The Institute for Information Industry (III) in Taiwan.
