What is accidental plagiarism?

It can occur when a student is unaware of (or unclear about) a centres plagiarism policy. It may occur when a student is unsure how to reference material. Accidental plagiarism can also occur when a student includes an original idea which, in fact, is not original and was an idea that they originally discovered from another source and subsequently forgot.
