• The new Elevator Safety and Regulation Act signed on July 23, 2009 (Public Act 096-0054) now states that Continuing Education must include a minimum of 2 hours of code update training in the 8-hour requirement. • Please check with your employer to see if they have an approved program which includes the 2 hours of code update training. • You may refer to the Elevator Safety website and open the Continuing Education link or check the last Board Decision regarding Continuing Education under Elevator Safety Review Board. A complete listing of accepted Continuing Education is located in these two locations and will give you all the information needed. • You may also use QEI training as proof of continuing education. However, you must submit the certificate stating you attended this training and the program must have previously been approved by the Elevator Safety Review Board.
