What is Accelerated Reader (AR)?
AR is a supplement to our Imagine It! reading program. All students are able to use the program by checking out leveled library books with a colored dot on the spine. They can read the book 3 times (1 x for chapter books) and take a comprehension test on the computer. Students earn points and are rewarded for the points they earn. AR is not mandatory or factored into the reading grade however, I have found AR to greatly improve a child’s comprehension and reading level.
