A zedonk is a zebra-donkey hybrid.  They are rare but not completely unheard of.  In 2005, a zedonk named Alex was born in Barbados, and in 2010, a zedonk named Pippi was born just north of Atlanta, GA.

Zedonks have the calm temperament of a donkey, and the beautiful stripes of a zebra.

Zedonks are mostly infertile due to an odd number of chromosomes. Zedonks occur when a female donkey mates with a male zebra. It is unlikely for a female zebra to mate with a male donkey, but it does happen on occasion.
