What is a Yello Dyno?
It is a yellow dinosaur and mascot of the Yello Dyno Child Protection Program. Both the Garden Street and John F. Kennedy Elementary Schools will be presenting this program to their kindergarten thru third grade students. This program and curricula have been offered in thousands of North American schools, benefiting more than three million children. Over 1000 schools in New York State have successfully implemented this program. The Yello Dyno program empowers children how to protect themselves from people who mean them harm. The program provides powerful and effective tools against all categories of child endangerment, including child abuse, bullying, abduction, and other forms of child endangerment. This information is delivered in a non-fearful manner. The program offers several key child safety benefits that are fundamental to all child safety issues: • Building self-confidence and self-esteem which are the foundations of personal safety. • Developing improved communication skills,
