What is a writing coach or writing mentor?
Generally speaking, a writing coach or mentor is a personal guide who walks with you as you move through the various stages of your writing project(s). They keep you on task and accountable, encouraged and have expertise on multiple levels that can bring your project to a successful completion. VOC, however, recognizes two categories of writing coaches/mentors: 1. Those who focus on writing from a skill oriented and marketable perspective; and 2. Those who focus on writing from God’s perspective, and then focus on the skill and marketing. The director’s within VOC are active writing coaches who mentor others from God’s perspective.
