What is a “write-up?
Participants in an InterMath course create write-ups, which can be considered the homework for the course. A write-up focuses on what the participant views important in an investigation. In a good write-up, all thoughts are explained clearly so that others who have not looked at a particular investigation can understand the process the participant engaged in. The write-up may include how a problem was solved, the discovery of more than one solution, the discovery of no solution, paths taken that led to a dead-end, etc., and most importantly an explanation of the participant’s understanding of “WHY?” various approaches did or did not work.
