What is a windmill dunk?
A windmill dunk is when the basketball player rotates their arm in a circular motion similar to a windmill before dunking the ball.
It’s just a variation really of a regular dunk but you need a little more coordination and height. Assuming you can dunk already then you perform it as follows:
- Run towards the hoop similar to how you would for a regular dunk but leave slightly more room. You do need to have a very strong dribble and a very strong jump.
- You need to leap from the paint and leave room to rotate your arm like a windmill. It is easier to execute the windmill dunk from a two footed jump.
- Cup the ball or grab it with 2 hands and Extend your arms behind you and quickly move it in a circular motion towards the rim.
- Time the dunk into the rim at the highest part of the jump.
