There can be some confusion with this definition, so I shall try to define other kinds of animals. A domestic animal is one, which humans developed from wild animals. Domestic animals usually rely on people for their housing, food or other necessities, although some people only collect domestic animals together to provide wool or other commodities. Often, such as with domestic dogs, some domestic breeds do not resemble their wild ancestors much, although some domestic animals can adapt to living in the wild and may resemble their wild ancestors after a few generations. Feral animals are domestic animals, which have been released, or have escaped, into the wild and can survive without human intervention.
