Think of your web address as you would your street address only with the advantages of using an easy to remember, unique identifier such as your company name or the nature of your business. Your web address is like the sign on your front door, all your customers have to do is type in the domain name and they have opened the door to your business. For example, our web address/domain name is sitesinaclick.com. It says it all. What we do and what we are called. In more technical terms, a web address is the official name of a computer connected to the Internet. Computers use Internet Protocol (IP) number to locate each other on the Internet. People use domain names because they are a lot easier to remember than a series of numbers. The domain name system (DNS) refers to the database system that looks up host IP addresses based upon these domain names.
