What is a Watchlist?
A watchlist allows you to keep an eye on new posts or comments that are added to what you are watching. For example, if there is a discussion that you want to be alerted to if someone replies to it, you can simply watch that discussion, and we’ll send you an email alert when something happens. You are able to watch any discussion or forum. Helpful hint: Our members have found it useful to watch discussions that they have initiated. This way you can receive one update for all of the activity on your discussions.
With thousands of articles and seeds making their way onto Newsvine every day, how do you keep a close eye on the particular subjects and authors that interest you? It’s easy with Watchlists. A Watchlist is simply a group of tags (subjects) and authors you’ve decided to follow. Let’s say, for instance, you are interested in “Wall Street”. Simply go to http://newsvine.com/wall-street, click the big green “WATCH” button near the top left corner of the page, and the tag “wall-street” is now added to your Watchlist. From that point on, every time a news item related to “wall-street” is published to Newsvine, you’ll know about it by glancing at your Watchlist. Look for it on left side of every page on the site. “wall-street (5)”, for instance, means that five new articles about Wall Street have been published since you last checked. You can also use your Watchlist to track individual authors on Newsvine. Let’s say you read an article by “Calvin”. Click the big green “WATCH” button next to C
Your watchlist contains pages that you are interested in. You are notified whenever a page on your watchlist changes, or whenever its associated talk page changes. This allows you to keep up to date with the latest information on that page. It also allows you to collaborate with others without making your email address public.
A watchlist enables you to monitor the performance of securities that you hold or are interested in. Watchlists are easy to create and allow you to access price and other information on your securities quickly and conveniently. You can set up a watchlist by registering in the MyASX section of www.asx.com.au. Registration is free. See also About Watchlists.
