What is a Warrant Officer in the Army?
Each branch of the military, except for the Air Force, has a warrant officer corps. The Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard all observe the same warrant officer rank structure, with slight variances between the rank insignias worn on the uniform. The Army is the oldest branch of the military and, as such, has a long tradition of using warrant officers to help accomplish the mission.
