What is a violet wand?
A violet wand is a quack medical device that was invented during the early 1900s. In the late 1800s, electricity was a new marvel and science and medicine thought electricity would provide the cure for many ills and the answers to many scientific questions. At first, full current shock therapy was used in many medical applications. Nikola Tesla, an inventor contemporary to Edison and Marconi, found he could break down electricity into a high frequency charge. His Tesla Coil combined with quack shock boxes to generate the violet wand.
