A viewer is a helper application for your browser. If you are unable to open a Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint document in Blackboard because you don’t have the right application on your hard drive, you can download a corresponding viewer that will allow you to open and print (but not edit) the document. All Microsoft viewers are available at http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.asp for free.
