What is a vertebral subluxation (misalignment)?
A subluxation is an abnormal positioning of the vertebrae of the spine, which may be the cause of pain, muscle spasm, or a condition such as sciatica (pain along the large sciatic nerve that runs from the lower back down the back of each leg). Subluxations also may interfere with the brain’s communication, via the nervous system, with the internal organs, resulting in disease or dysfunction. Finally, subluxations may be the root cause of such degenerative conditions as arthritis or spinal instability.
