What is a Validated Export License?
A document issued by the U.S. government authorizing the export of commodities for which written export authorization is required by law. Two types exist: an Individual Validated License (IVL) and a Special License. (See Commerce Control List (CCL) below) What is a Commodity Classification, when do I need one, and how do I get one? All commodities, technology or software subject to the licensing authority of BXA are included in the Commerce Control List (CCL) which is found in Supplement 1 to Part 774 of the Export Administration Regulations.
