What is a Vacation Retainer and why do landlords ask for it?
A Vacation Retainer is essentailly a holding bond which you may be asked to pay if you are not going to be occupying a room for a certain period. Some lodgings landlords will ask for it as assurance that you will indeed return to the room, and also in order to mitigate rent loss incurred by the void. It is usually only asked by landlords upon our Lodgings Lists. It is usually either a cut price-rate or a nominal fee.
