What is a USA Wrestling Card and why do I need one?
There is a saying “Spring and Summer Wrestling Makes Winter Champions!”. Once the high school wrestling season completes in February, the Freestyle and Greco-Roman season begins. The vast majority of spring and summer wrestling is done under the sanction of the USA Wrestling Organization and most of the local clubs are all USA Wrestling Clubs. USA Wrestling is the National Governing Body for the Sport of Wrestling in the United States and, as such, is its representative to the United States Olympic Committee. Simply, USA Wrestling is the central organization that coordinates amateur wrestling programs in the nation and works to create interest and participation in these programs. Each state has their own state-wide orgainization which oversees wrestling on the behalf of USA Wrestling. In Washington state that organization is the Washington State Wrestling Association (WSWA).
