What is a unity candle ceremony?
A. Not unlike the sand and water ceremony, this too is an outwardly symbolic ceremony that requires the bride and groom to each light an individual candle and then taking their individual candle and lighting one larger and more beautiful candle which symbolizes the joining of 2 lives into 1. The cost of a Florida marriage license is $93.50. Residents of Florida may attend a premarital course from a registered provider, or waiting three days, as Florida law requires. A directory of premarital course providers is available at all court locations. If a certificate of completion is provided at the time of application, you will receive a cost reduction of $32.50 and the three day waiting period will be waived. If one applicant is a Florida resident and the other is not, they may both attend the course to receive the full benefit. If only the Florida resident attends the course, the three-day waiting period will still be required.
