What is a typical workout like?
See a video of what a typical practice is like. Usually, we stretch and do some rolling and falling for about 15 minutes, followed by uchikomi, or practice entries to throws. Next, we break up into groups and throw each other for a while, followed by a quick water break. Next, we usually show a technique or two, followed by pairing up and practicing the new techniques. Next comes the “meat” of the practice, where we spend usually between 40 and 50 minutes grappling and throwing in a competitive fashion. Last, we usually do a bit of condition for strength and endurance. Historically, we have even done a little bit of training with the Goshin-Jitsu club to get a taste for something a little different (depending on the new schedule, this may/may not be possible).
