What is a typical week of study in the Mentorship?
After the pre-mentorship directed reading period, you will study online (starting in September) for a few weeks completing online lectures and assignments. On week five, you will begin your clinical practice at one of our training sites for two days a week for a total of 16-20 hours. Youll start 1:1 supervision with your mentor. This is the centerpiece of your studies at Kaiser! Starting on week seven, youll come to Kaiser Union City for weekend laboratory sessions to refine your handling skills and clinical reasoning. During the 25 week program, youll come for 5 weekend lab sessions, including at least one Monday. Youll also participate in small group tutorials and online discussions with faculty members for clinical problem solving. At the end of the program, there will be written, technique and patient exams.
