There is no answer for this question as there is no “typical” experiment. Researchers and industrial users must run as many arrays as required to answer the particular hypothesis and achieve the specified level of statistical significance. In projects using human arrays, the number of arrays varied from two to several hundred. Minimum order of this type of array is 6 arrays (3 or 6 glass slides depending on which array you choose).
