What is a Transportation Demand Management Plan (TDM)?
TDM applies strategies and policies to reduce automobile travel demand and to solve traffic congestion problems by curbing the use of single occupancy travel through the promotion and use of public transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, bicycling, telecommuting, or flexible scheduling. All of these options reduce the number of vehicles on the road, reducing the need for additional roadway capacity and parking.
