What is a Transcript?
With Teacher Support: Your student’s transcript is a written record of his/her courses for the year, grades in both letter and number form, the grade point average for each class, and the overall grade point average for all classes combined. Transcripts also show the credits the student has received for the year for each class, as well as combined credits for the year for all classes combined.
A transcript is an official document that lists all a student s classes, credits, honors and grades. Many employers and Universities will require one if you are trying to transfer, apply for a scholarship or get a job. You can obtain an unofficial transcript for free, but most organizations will require an official transcript. This will be mailed in a sealed envelope and carry the seal of the college on the transcript itself. Envelopes should remain sealed until they have reached their final destination.
