What is a topic sentence or a lead-in sentence?
A topic sentence contains the main idea of the paragraph and can be placed at the beginning, at the end, or perhaps in the middle of the paragraph. On the other hand, a lead-in sentence begins the paragraph. Some professional writers do not have an explicit topic or lead-in sentence, but as a student, you are required to have one.
